Sociology of Education

Sociology of education is a course whose main goal is to deepen the study of education from a social perspective. Likewise, students will discover the importance of sociability and social life within the teaching activity in the educational context and the most substantive social issues of the educational process. Students will be provided with different theoretical trends that have defined such a process as a "social fact" from the sociological perspective, highlighting the relationship between the school -considered as one of the fundamental agents of the socialization process- and society. In addition, this course will provide students with a basic knowledge that raises their interest in thinking about the society in which they live and where they are going to educate people.

Students will develop their ability to analyze and interpret the social environment in which their main activity takes place in order
to offer school children a basic training that facilitates their personal and professional development.
